The Concierge is one of the sleekest and most elegant golf carts your money can buy. That may seem like a strong statement, and I am sure that many people will argue the point, but this vehicle offers unmatched comfort and space for you and up to five others.
Yamaha developed the Concierge in order to provide an environmentally friendly means of transportation for larger parties without having to resort to driving a traditional automobile or buying a commercial transport vehicle. It is available in four-passenger and six-passenger configurations, and you can choose either an electric motor or a gasoline engine. You are also sure to love the large seats and an entire host of amenities and options.
Yamaha is the only golf cart manufacturer that develops and constructs its own gasoline engines. What’s even better is that the engine in the gasoline Concierge is larger and more powerful than that in any other golf cart in the world. The 357cc engine produces 11.4 horsepower, and it has 27 percent more power when climbing vertical slopes than the next leading model.
Another fantastic feature of Yamaha’s engine is that it includes a filterless oil system that uses splash-style positive lubrication, making an oil pump and filter unnecessary. This not only saves you money on routine maintenance but also means that there are fewer parts to repair or replace in the event of a breakdown.
Although this engine could get the Concierge travelling at well above the maximum allowable for low-speed vehicles (LSVs), it is governed to have an upper limit of 15 mph, and you can go in reverse at up to 10 mph. In addition, the gasoline Concierge has a dry weight of 855 pounds, and the capacity of the fuel tank is 6.3 gallons.
The electric Concierge from Yamaha is also insanely powerful for golf carts in its class. The 48-volt electric motor is quiet, efficient and environmentally friendly, but is runs continuously at 3.5 horsepower. This motor is manufactured by Hitachi, and it is built for durability and is highly resistant to corrosion. All of the internal parts of the motor are nickel-plated stainless steel, and it includes an internal tachometer.
The gasoline Concierge is not the only one to be uniquely exceptional. The electric model also boasts several innovations, and Yamaha is the only golf-cart manufacturer to make its own controller. In the early stages of development, it was decided that the controller would be the best one on the market, and after years of research, The Yamaha controller was finally completed. It communicates directly with the battery charger and includes several features:
The electric Concierge also has much more to offer. To extend battery life, it has a regenerative braking system that allows the motor to create electricity and send it straight to the batteries. This component helps regulate the vehicle’s speed when going downhill, and it is so efficient that even if you forget to set the parking brake, it will barely roll. In such an instance, an alarm also sounds to alert you that the car is moving.
The final feature of the electric Concierge that is worth mentioning is the state-of-the-art battery charger, which is also manufactured directly by Yamaha. At only 10 pounds, it is one of the lightest chargers available, and it uses a solid-state field effect transistor (FET) that eliminates the need for the noisy, inefficient transistors in other chargers.
Yamaha Concierge excels in its craftsmanship, and the company goes over and above for the comfort, convenience and safety of drivers and passengers. The EnduraDrive transaxle, inspired by Yamaha’s ATV, is an all-wheel disc-brake system that works incredibly well and is virtually maintenance free. In addition, passengers in the rear seats have the benefit of stabilizing themselves with durable grab handles constructed of powder-coated steel.
The seats in the Concierge are the largest of any golf cart, and they have been expertly designed to keep passengers in place during transport while accommodating a wide range of body types. Each seat has a seamless vinyl cover with a fabric backing over firm, supportive foam that is strengthened with plated steel inserts.
There is no doubt about it. The Concierge is the real deal, and the price can't be beat. It is attractive and functional, and it performs well in a variety of environments.
