When it comes to utility vehicles (UTVs), very few manufacturers can meet the specifications and performance of the units produced by American SportWorks. Recently, the company has used its extensive knowledge and experience in design to produce an all-new electric-powered UTV that can be driven on most city streets: the LANDmaster LMLSV. The LANDmaster series of vehicles is 14 strong, and the LMLSV ranks as a medium-duty UTV with two-wheel drive that can go where most other low-speed vehicles (LSVs) cannot. What makes the LMLSV even better is that it is powerful, durable and versatile yet extremely affordable.
The LANDmaster LMLSV is truly a neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) for the masses. In effect, it combines all of the best features of the LM48V with all of the features needed to be street legal according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the FMVSS Standard No. 500. This means the LMLSV comes fully equipped with a shatter-resistant windshield, headlights, brake lights, turn signals and horn.
Although the LANDmaster LMLSV is street legal in most states and municipalities, it can be driven off-road in all situations that do not call for four-wheel drive. You can take it down to the river, lake, forest or whatever local terrain is nearby and then drive it straight home without having to load it into a truck. It runs smoother than most all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and it is much safer because its speed is limited to 22 mph. With the LMLSV, you will never need any other vehicle for short trips.
Sporting a 48-volt, high-efficiency motor, the LANDmaster LMLSV provides reliable power and offers regenerative braking to help reduce speed smoothly and increase efficiency by recharging the batteries. The motor operates at 24 kilowatts with 46 foot-pounds of torque and is operated by a 500-amp Curtis controller. It has a maximum speed of 22 mph, which can be reduced to 10 mph with an optional speed governor, and it can be driven for a maximum of 38 miles before the batteries are fully depleted.
The LMLSV starts with a keyed switch, which allows power to transfer from its six 8-volt Trojan T-875 deep-cycle batteries to the electric motor. It also has an onboard 48-volt Delta Q charger that plugs into most standard outlets.
This vehicle includes a formidable direct-drive transmission with an open differential, and the transaxle is an H-12 Shafer with a DANA gearbox. The front suspension uses a double A-arm that features adjustable shocks with 3 inches of travel space while the rear suspension uses an articulated swing arm with quad-adjustable shocks.
The front and rear tires are 10 inches in size, and the wheelbase is 71 inches, which provides an inside turning radius of 7.5 feet. Overall, the LMLSV is 106 inches long by 47 inches wide by 74 inches high. It weighs 1,250 pounds, has capacity of 900 pounds and can tow up to 1,100 pounds. The bed is 35.25 inches long by 41.5 inches wide by 11 inches deep and has a capacity of 9.25 cubic feet by area and 400 pounds by weight.
The LMLSV already comes fully equipped with standard features that are optional with other LSVs, so options are unnecessary except in two respects: color and seating. The entire LANDmaster class of vehicles is available in several standard colors, including Cherry Red, Midnight Black and Alpine Green, while Arctic White and Lost Camo can be chosen for a small fee.
All full-size LANDmaster UTVs are also available in two different models. The standard model comes with a structural foam-poly dump bed, but you can order the S model, which replaces the standard bed with a rugged and patented rear-facing seat. This seat is made of cushioned steel, and it easily folds down, converting it into a working dump bed in less than 10 seconds’ time.
American SportWorks has been operating since 1959, manufacturing and distributing off-road and on-road vehicles from its headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Today, the company boasts more than one million sales, most of which are in the LANDmaster series of UTVs. The series was designed to meet the needs of individuals and families of all types and can be used for work, recreation or general transportation.
Many commercial businesses also employ LANDmaster UTVs to maintain their properties, including rental and vacation homes. Any of the medium-duty LANDmaster vehicles are capable of performing the jobs of tractors by transporting mulch, compost, timber or other material. However, this class of UTV can also be used to pull trailers or even lawnmowers.
The LANDmaster LMLSV is the culmination of more than 50 years of experience in designing and manufacturing UTVs and ATVs of the highest quality, and the company stands by its performance and reliability with a one-year warranty.
In addition, SportWorks is known for its superior customer service. Friendly and knowledgeable representatives are available on weekdays and can be reached through a toll-free phone number or a contact form on the company website. On the website, you can also order a full range of accessories, including all of the following:
If you are looking for an LSV that does much more than the competition, then look no further than the LANDmaster LMLSV. It will take you where you need to go with unmatched reliability and comfort, whether it is to a neighbor’s house, the grocery store, a fishing trip or just for the sake of catching a cool breeze. This UTV has it all, and it has already been enjoyed by men, women, the young and the elderly. It has a little something for everyone.
